Hello everyone. I wanted to talk about something that should be on all our minds, especially if you have children, and thats internet safety! It seems with every advance in technology theres also a downfall. While the internet provides you with unending information it also opens your information to others if youre not careful. Remember, when playing online or chatting on a forum, never give out personal information! Never give out a password! Keep all firewalls up and virus protection on! If youre not sure about a site then dont go there. When in doubt, leave it out! A way you can tell if a site is secure is to look at the web address. If you see "https" then it should be secure. If you see "http" it may not be secure. Keeping your guard up can prevent identity theft and keep your children safe from online predators! Dont be afraid to be paranoid when it comes to your children! Get more acquainted with what your child is currently into. If you notice a change in your childs behaviour, dont be afraid to put your foot down and find out whats going on. Another thing is abusive language, whether written or spoken during online play. Im guilty of this myself. Lets try to keep our language as restrictive as possible. I have to remind myself that some of the people we run into are just children(although some of them cuss better than I do!). Anyway, I hope to hear from you and be safe everyone!

Yeah I have to agree with you on a few point you make as you never really know who you're bumping into in any given lobby and I know I've heard stories of kids playing with grown folks and gettin cussed out, shame. Didn't know about the "https/http" tip but thanks for sharing

Very informative Collin. I have actually seen places where children swear worse than adults and some of them are only 12 or 13. Not surprisingly this happens on that goddamn Call of Duty bullshit... I've even seen hate mail a 12 year old has sent to someone over XBL. The language is just terrible... It's a shame when parents don't do anything when kids do that sort of stuff... I'm just saying...

If you haven't seen this already, it made me LMAO and reminded me i'm never as grown as i think i am. Though the method he punishes his daughter is harsh, I can understand that it was probably necessary XD www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1ujzRidmU
